| Customer Focused, By Design
Well, we are just back from the VAI User Conference at Disney World in Orlando and we truly had a magical time. I was a little late for the conference because of a special golf lesson that I received from Mickey Mouse (CLICK TO WATCH VIDEO)...... Combining the magic of both Disney and technology really helped to illustrate just how exciting these new software offerings really are. Disney demonstrated just how important their customers really are, with terrific guest services throughout the conference. |
To be successful in the enterprise software industry, VAI understands that customers come first. Nothing is more essential to their success than the ability to adapt their product to the ever changing needs of the user requirements, industry trends, and direction. Since providing exceptional customer service is the core of VAI’s business philosophy, it was especially fitting that they held the conference at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. Disney is world-renowned for its singular focus on customer service, and VAI was fortunate to secure Lee Cockerell, Executive Vice President of Resort Operations for The Walt Disney Company, as their keynote speaker.
Lee Cockerell shared his insights from his impressive 16-year career with Disney, operating 18 resort hotels, four theme parks, three water parks and five golf courses. He was instrumental in making Disney the front-runner in quality, service excellence and guest satisfaction. Lee’s presentation was a great opportunity for VAI’s customers to hear his secret of success and translate them into manageable solutions for their own companies.
During the Conference, VAI released an update to our S2K software with 3.7.6, and revealed plans to release S2K 5.0 next year. New features have been built into 3.7.6, including streamlined distribution capabilities, improved manufacturing functions and retail Point-of-Sale advances. Version 3.7.6 provides some exciting enhancements that VAI's customers can take advantage of now, while at the same time providing the structure for an easy migration to 5.0. This release will feature voice picking technology, telephony capabilities, a new graphical interface and streamlined navigation, while also providing a great platform for building advanced features over the next several years.
This year’s conference highlighted VAI’s Warehouse Management Software Solution. Warehouse Pro is a great tool for businesses to streamline operations and reduce costs. In addition, a new e-Commerce application was unveiled that featured robust capabilities including a Customer Shopping Cart application, Vendor Procurement capacities, Executive Sales Access and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) integration.
VAI’s product development initiatives are truly customer driven. VAI meets twice each year with its Advisory Council, consisting of 20 companies in various industries. They work in concert with these customers to produce new industry specific features and capabilities. In addition to the Advisory Council, suggestions are solicited from customers on the functionality of the S2K Software Suite. This year alone over 125 of these suggestions have been incorporated into new product upgrades.
Of course, VAI is also intensely aware of the latest technological advances and industry trends, and they incorporate this information into research and development process. VAI's commitment to their customers drives the work that they do.
