Bob Vormittag, President and CEO, VAI, was a featured panelist at the November 1, 2007 Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA) Executive Luncheon titled, “Leading Your Way in Changing Times.” Other panelists were Robert Gaffney, President, Dowling College and former Suffolk County Executive; Jim Manseau, Divisional Senior Vice President, North Fork Bank; and Jackie Gernaey, Chief Executive, The Alternative Board. Andrea Feinberg of Coaching Insight was the event moderator.
The purpose of the luncheon, sponsored by Greenstone/Fontana, Suffolk Federal Credit Union and The Training Source, was to educate business owners and managers about the importance of leadership skills necessary to run a successful Long Island company. One of the timely topics covered included the impact of mergers and acquisitions on Long Island businesses.
Mr. Vormittag and the other panelists discussed their personal leadership principles and how these values are integrated into their respective companies. In addition, the discussion covered a range of subjects such as effective networking, developing strategic alliances, valuable leadership skills for the large and small business owner, and methods for achieving personal career goals. |
